Installer / Uninstaller of MEFLASH driver (versions 6)

Use this package to install and uninstall MEFlash device driver
version 6.x series as well as all previous instances of MEFlash
and EPAUSB device drivers.

N.B.! For all operations described in this file, you need to be
logged in as an Administrator on your computer. Under Windows Vista,
you also need to make sure that you are using a command line window
with Administrator rights.

Modes of Operation
------------------

The MEFlash driver 6 series is able to operate in two modes:

1. As a USB only driver, where the mobile equipment is accessed thru
the USB bus. An accompanying meflash.dll exports the C/C++ interface required
for accessing this driver.

2. As a virtual COM port, where the mobile unit is accessed thru a
virtual serial COM port, using Win32 serial communication API.

Once installed, the "VirtCOM" registry entry in the drivers home registry folder,
controls the mode it is running in:

If set to 0, the driver works as a USB only driver.
If set to 1, the driver exports a virtual COM port.

Be aware, that in both modes of operations, the mobile equipment driven by this
driver will be shown as "COM Ports" in the Windows Device Manager.

By default and at installation time, the "VirtCOM" registry key is set to "0".

How to uninstall older drivers
------------------------------

Open a command line window with Administrator rights. Change the directory
to the root of this installation package and issue the following command:

Remove\erasedrv.exe u Data\meflashser.inf

The erasedrv.exe executable has two phases:

1. It will try to delete the device driver with the exact match described
in the passed on inf file.
2. It will delete ALL installed drivers for the VID/PID 0xbdb/0x100e.

Do not worry if phase 1 fails, this might depend on the program not finding
an exact match (it may not exist at all). Phase 2 guarantees that all drivers
responding to that USB VID/PID will be deleted.

How to install the new driver
-----------------------------

Run the DPInst.exe program, either by executing it in a command line window,
or doublecliking on it. Make sure that you are running this executable as
an Administrator, especially on Windows Vista.
